A tragic incident occurred in Mobarakpur village, Jashore, where a Union Parishad (UP) member, GM Moshiru Rahman, was electrocuted while irrigating trees by a pond. The 44-year-old, who was a two-term elected member of Ward No-1 under Chaluahati UP, came into contact with a live electric wire around 9:30 pm on Friday night, resulting in critical injuries. Despite being rushed to Keshabpur Upazila Health Complex, he was declared dead by physicians. UP Chairman Abdul Hamid confirmed the unfortunate incident, expressing sorrow over the loss. Rajganj police investigation centre’s Sub Inspector Rakibuzzaman is looking into the matter.
