Pernem Police cracked a murder case within hours of its registration with the arrest of two persons, one of whom had fled to Maharashtra after committing the offence. The case unfolded when a body was found floating in the river at Nhaibag, Pernem earlier this morning.

Identified as Abnejar, 47, and originally from Simdega in Jharkhand, the victim was strangled with a nylon rope. The body was disposed of in the Terekhol river.

SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi said that on receiving information, they soon formed teams to launch investigation and within 3 hours, suspects were identified and arrested, one of whom was traced in Maharashtra.

The accused, Satish Kullu and Junel Kullu, both also hailing from the same village, are booked for murder and destruction of evidence. The motive behind the murder is yet to be revealed by the police.
