Two labourers tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident that took place in the serene village of Chakpora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The incident occurred on a fateful Friday when the workers were diligently carrying out their tasks in a trench in the area.

Details of the Incident

According to reports, the labourers slipped and fell into the deep trench while they were engrossed in their work. The sudden turn of events led to a rescue operation being launched immediately, with both police personnel and local residents rushing to the spot to lend a helping hand.

Despite the swift response, the outcome was heartbreaking as two of the workers, identified as Maqbool Dar from Kulgam and Aziz ur Rehman from Bengal, tragically lost their lives. The other two individuals were promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Medical Response

The medical superintendent at District Hospital Kulgam, Gulzar Ahmad Dar, confirmed that two of the labourers were brought in lifeless, while one is currently undergoing treatment. Fortunately, the fourth individual has been discharged after receiving the necessary medical care.
