Florida Authorities Arrest Suspect in Fatal Carjacking, Seek Second Man Involved
Authorities in Florida have taken a significant step forward in their investigation into a fatal carjacking that shook the community last week. Sheriff Dennis Lemma stated that Torres-Garcia’s phone number matches that of the individual who purchased a green Acura vehicle seen in the video footage colliding with Aguasvivas’s Dodge Durango. Investigators believe that Torres-Garcia is the individual shown in the witness video exiting the Acura, brandishing a firearm at Aguasvivas, and subsequently entering her vehicle before it was discovered ablaze in Osceola County with a body inside.

The Acura, which was later found abandoned in Orlando, has been tied to another murder in Orange County that occurred the day before Aguasvivas’s tragic death. Lemma described Torres-Garcia as a person of interest in the carjacking and noted that he was arrested on an outstanding weapons warrant from Puerto Rico.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are awaiting the analysis of phone records, computer data, and other documents that are expected to bolster their case against the suspects. Lemma expressed confidence that these records will help fill in the remaining gaps in the investigation.
