Police Investigation

Initially, an FIR of attempted murder was filed, but after Shahnawaz passed away on April 13, the charge was upgraded to murder. A juvenile who was apprehended in connection with the incident provided crucial information leading to the arrest of Salman and Shoaib on Thursday.

Previous Criminal Activity

DCP Tirkey revealed that the accused had intentions of gaining notoriety as a local gang and had planned to extort protection money from Shahnawaz. Both Salman and Shoaib had prior involvement in cases of attempted murder and robbery, making them known to the authorities.

Recovery of Weapons

During the arrest, two country-made pistols and two live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused, indicating their readiness to commit violent acts. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover any further details surrounding the motive behind the shooting.
