Brooklyn Man Killed in Tragic Highway Accident in Hartford, Connecticut
A heartbreaking incident occurred on Tuesday night when a 28-year-old Brooklyn man, Randy Casado, lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on I-84 West in Hartford, Connecticut. The Connecticut State Police reported that the fatal accident took place around 8:27 p.m., sending shockwaves through both the local community and beyond.
Details of the Incident
According to state police, the tragic collision happened in the HOV travel lane of I-84 West. Casado was walking directly in front of a 2007 Toyota Prius being driven by a 73-year-old man when the vehicle struck him. Despite the prompt response from emergency services, Casado’s injuries were severe and ultimately fatal. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Prius, who remained on-site after the accident, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Fortunately, his passenger, a 71-year-old woman, escaped unharmed.
