Investigators in Archdale, N.C., have located the second stolen truck linked to a man who fired shots at a local business. Joshua Blaine Arquette, 36, allegedly entered Carolina Container and discharged multiple rounds before fleeing in a stolen white Ford F-350. No injuries were reported, but property damage occurred. The F-350 was abandoned near Thompson Heath Road, where Arquette stole a silver 2004 Nissan Titan. Authorities warn that Arquette is armed and dangerous, with warrants for his arrest. Schools in the area were briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution. Charges against Arquette include possession of a stolen vehicle and discharging a weapon into an occupied property.

ARCHDALE, N.C. (WGHP) — The search for a man who allegedly fired multiple shots at an Archdale business took a new turn as investigators discovered the second stolen truck in connection with the incident. Joshua Blaine Arquette, 36, is at the center of the investigation after he entered Carolina Container on Tuesday morning and fired shots before fleeing the scene in a stolen white Ford F-350. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the shooting did cause property damage.

Following the incident, the stolen F-350 was found abandoned near Thompson Heath Road. It was here that Arquette allegedly stole another truck, a silver 2004 Nissan Titan. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office later located the stolen Nissan Titan at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, adding to the ongoing manhunt for Arquette.

Authorities have issued a warning that Arquette is considered “armed and dangerous,” with active warrants out for his arrest. The public is urged not to approach him and to contact 911 immediately if they have any information on his whereabouts.

Shots Fired

The incident unfolded on Tuesday morning, with reports of shots fired at Carolina Container. Arquette allegedly fired multiple shots at the business before fleeing in a white truck. Police responded to the scene at approximately 9:07 a.m., but no motive for the shooting has been disclosed.

Randolph County deputies made a significant discovery at 11 a.m. when they found the abandoned white Ford F-350, which had been reported stolen in Davidson County, off Thompson Heath Road.

Subsequent reports indicated that an armed individual, believed to be Arquette, was spotted in the area of Beckerdite Road and Thompson Heath Road in Sophia. Witnesses reported a man carrying firearms knocking on doors, seeking to use a phone, and rummaging through vehicles. Shortly after, a silver 2004 Nissan Titan was reported stolen from Thompson Heath Road, with a caller noting a similar truck speeding towards I-74 south on Beckerdite Road.

Charges

Arquette faces pending charges from Archdale police for felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony discharging a weapon into an occupied property, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor injury to personal property, and misdemeanor discharging a firearm in the city. Randolph County Sheriff’s Office has also charged him with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor injury to real property. Davidson County Sheriff’s Office has pending charges against Arquette for two counts of felony larceny of a firearm, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, and felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

Schools on Lockdown

In response to the ongoing situation, Randolph County Schools implemented lockdown measures at several schools. Wheatmore Middle School was placed on full lockdown from 9:22 a.m. to 9:28 a.m., transitioning to a modified lockdown until 9:54 a.m. New Market Elementary followed with a modified lockdown from 11:05 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.

Additional schools, including Level Cross Elementary, Randleman Elementary, Trindale Elementary, Trinity Elementary, Archdale Elementary, Hopewell Elementary, John Lawrence Elementary, Trinity Middle, Wheatmore Middle, Randleman Middle, Wheatmore High, Trinity High, and Randleman High, were placed on modified lockdown from around 11:30 a.m. to just after 1 p.m. Randolph County Schools cited safety concerns in the community as the reason for these precautionary measures.
