Drug Trafficking Arrest in Graves County, Kentucky

In a significant development in western Kentucky, two individuals were apprehended on Tuesday afternoon following an extensive investigation into methamphetamine trafficking. The Graves County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies across the region, successfully arrested two major drug dealers in Graves County.

The investigation involved agencies such as the United States Postal Inspector, sheriff’s offices from McCracken, Graves, Ballard, and Calloway Counties, as well as municipal police departments from Paducah, Mayfield, and Murray, alongside the Paducah Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Initial findings revealed that 37-year-old Antonio D. Jackson of Mayfield was engaged in the trafficking of large quantities of crystal methamphetamine in Mayfield, Graves County, and surrounding communities in western Kentucky. Jackson was reportedly receiving substantial shipments of meth at his residence and subsequently distributing them to smaller dealers in the area. Undercover operations corroborated Jackson’s role as a supplier to these smaller dealers.

On that fateful Tuesday morning, investigators, in collaboration with the McCracken Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and other agencies, secured warrants for Jackson’s arrest. Jackson, who had been under surveillance, was intercepted at the intersection of KY Hwy 303 at the KY 80 intersection just 20 minutes after the warrants were obtained. Concerned that Jackson might attempt to escape, law enforcement executed a moving roadblock, resulting in a collision between Jackson’s vehicle and one of the arrest team’s vehicles. Despite his efforts to flee, Jackson was effectively cornered, thwarting any potential vehicle chase.

Following Jackson’s apprehension, law enforcement discovered approximately a quarter pound of crystal meth on his person, along with cash strewn across the front passenger compartment of his vehicle. Subsequent searches at his residence revealed further evidence of drug trafficking.

At around 12:50 p.m., the arrest teams proceeded to another location on Chris Drive, situated about 3 miles south of Mayfield off KY Hwy 303. At this address, another suspect, identified as 38-year-old Ivy S. Daniels of Mayfield, was arrested on active warrants related to crystal meth trafficking. Investigators also uncovered cash linked to the ongoing investigation at Daniels’ residence.

Both Jackson and Daniels have extensive criminal histories, with Jackson having felony convictions for trafficking in cocaine, tampering with physical evidence, and evading police multiple times. He is currently facing sentencing for illegal felony firearm charges in McCracken County. Daniels, on the other hand, has prior felony convictions for possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as trafficking in cocaine on two separate occasions.

Following their arrests, both individuals were transported to detention facilities outside the county. Jackson faces charges of felony fleeing or evading police and trafficking in over 10 pounds of crystal meth, while Daniels is charged with trafficking in a first-degree controlled substance (meth) as a repeat offender, along with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office has indicated that these cases will be forwarded to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Paducah for further prosecution, with additional charges pending against other suspects involved in the drug trafficking network.
