A man wanted for murder in Rock Hill was apprehended after a violent attack and attempted carjacking at a Huntersville QuikTrip, as reported by Queen City News. The incident took place at 16649 Statesville Road around 7:45 p.m. on April 13. The suspect, Shawn Marion Love, 27, tried to steal a woman’s vehicle using a knife but was unsuccessful. Love fled the scene on a stolen bike but was later located by Huntersville officers. He is facing charges of attempted robbery and breaking and entering a motor vehicle in Mecklenburg County. Love will also be extradited to face murder charges in Rock Hill.

The Violent Incident at Huntersville QuikTrip

In a shocking turn of events, a man wanted for murder in Rock Hill was apprehended following a violent attack and attempted carjacking at a QuikTrip gas station in Huntersville, North Carolina. The harrowing incident took place at 16649 Statesville Road on Saturday, April 13, at 7:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, Huntersville officers found that a man had assaulted a woman with a knife and tried to steal her vehicle at the location. Fortunately, the woman sustained only minor injuries and received immediate medical care at the scene.

The Capture of Shawn Marion Love

The suspect, later identified as Shawn Marion Love, a 27-year-old resident of Rock Hill, SC, was unsuccessful in his carjacking attempt and fled the scene on a stolen bike. Thanks to video surveillance footage from the QuikTrip, detectives were able to gather crucial information and a description of the wanted individual.

On Sunday, April 14, around 11 a.m., Huntersville officers responded to a report of a ‘suspicious person’ along Sherrill Estates Road and apprehended Love. A warrant check revealed that Love was wanted for murder in Rock Hill and matched the description of the assailant from the assault and attempted carjacking.

Legal Proceedings and Charges

Love now faces charges of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and breaking and entering a motor vehicle in Mecklenburg County. His bond has been set at $100,000 secured as he awaits further legal proceedings.

Following Love’s arrest, a stolen vehicle from the scene of the murder in Rock Hill was recovered by a Huntersville officer on the side of Interstate 77 near Exit 23. Once Love is extradited to Rock Hill, he will be served warrants for murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Love is scheduled to appear in Mecklenburg County court on Monday, April 15, where he will face the charges brought against him. The community awaits justice to be served in this troubling case of violence and criminal activity.
