The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended the suspected bomber and mastermind behind the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast on March 1 from Digha, West Bengal. The NIA suspects that a local resident guided the two individuals during their stay in Bengal. Additionally, the agency discovered that a third person linked to the terror outfit, Muzammil Shareef, visited Kolkata to assist the suspects. Shareef, who was arrested in Chennai, is accused of providing logistical support. The suspects used fake names while staying in hotels in Kolkata and explored tourist spots. Nine individuals were injured in the blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant breakthrough in the case of the March 1 Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe blast. The alleged bomber and mastermind of the attack were apprehended from Digha in West Bengal on Friday. It is suspected that a local resident played a crucial role in guiding the two perpetrators during their three-week stay in Bengal.

Further investigations by the NIA have revealed that a third individual, connected to the terror outfit Muzammil Shareef, visited Kolkata to assist the two suspects, identified as Abdul Matheen Taha and Mussavir Hussain Shazib. Shareef, who was arrested by the NIA from Chennai on March 26, has been accused of providing logistical support to the perpetrators.

According to an official familiar with the case, Taha and Shazib returned to Kolkata on March 21 after spending a week in Ranchi. On the same day, Shareef arrived in Kolkata from Bengaluru and met with them at Dharmatala. Shareef took care of their daily expenses during their stay in the city.

The two suspects stayed in four different hotels in Kolkata, all located in busy areas. They checked into Hotel Paradise on Lenin Sarani in central Kolkata on March 13 under the aliases Y Shahnawaz and Anmol Kulkarni. After spending a night at the hotel, they moved on to explore various tourist destinations such as Darjeeling and Digha. They even visited Chandni Chowk to get their mobile phone repaired.
