Joel Cauchi, a 40-year-old Queensland man known to police, carried out the brutal attack on Saturday, killing five women and one man, and injuring 12 others, including a baby.
The Victims
Yixuan Cheng joins the list of victims alongside Dawn Singleton, Ashlee Good, Jade Young, Pikria Darchia, and security guard Faraz Ahmed Tahir. Dawn Singleton, the daughter of prominent Australian businessman John Singleton, was engaged to marry a NSW police officer. Faraz Ahmed Tahir, a former refugee, was at work when he was fatally attacked.
Ashlee Good, who tragically passed away, heroically handed her nine-month-old daughter to two men in an attempt to save the infant during the attack. The baby is now recovering after surgery. Architect Jade Young and Pikria Darchia were also among those killed in the rampage.
