Milwaukee Man Charged with Homicide and Mutilating a Corpse

A shocking incident has rocked the city of Milwaukee, where a man has been charged with homicide and mutilating a corpse after a severed leg, believed to be that of a missing 19-year-old woman, was discovered earlier this month. Maxwell Anderson, 33, who was already a person of interest in the disappearance of Sade Robinson, was arrested last week and officially charged on Friday morning.

Discovery of Human Remains

The severed leg was found on April 2, and Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball confirmed that it has been preliminarily identified as belonging to Robinson. In addition to the leg, human remains were also found at three other locations, including by railroad tracks, on April 5 and April 6. However, the identification of those remains is still pending, according to Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman.

Chief Norman described the situation as a “horrendous tragedy” and expressed condolences to the Robinson family on behalf of the Milwaukee Police Department. The district attorney’s office has charged Anderson with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson of property other than a building.

Investigation and Arrest

Robinson was last seen on April 1, prompting Milwaukee police to ask the public for help in locating her. Anderson emerged as a person of interest on April 4, just two days after the leg was discovered. He was apprehended following a traffic stop, after which a search was conducted at his residence. Authorities have not disclosed any information regarding the motive behind the crime, citing an ongoing investigation.

Investigators believe that Robinson and Anderson may have crossed paths at Anderson’s workplace, though this connection is still being verified. The search for Robinson’s remains continues, with law enforcement stating that they do not suspect the involvement of any other individuals in the crime.

Legal Proceedings and Family Response

Anderson, who remains in custody, was ordered held on a $5 million bond. Robinson’s mother, Sheena Scarbrough, expressed relief at the criminal charges, calling it “justice for Sade.” Family members are determined to continue searching for their loved one’s remains.

As the investigation unfolds, Anderson’s attorney has not yet responded to requests for comment. The case has garnered significant media attention, with NBC affiliate WTMJ of Milwaukee providing updates on the developments.
