The video, which circulated on a popular social media platform, showed Mr Chima, dressed in a blue T-shirt and black joggers’ trousers, brandishing an AK-47 rifle and making threats towards the individuals at their home. According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the officer in question, identified as Force Number 534023 PC Prince Chima, had been enlisted in the police force on January 10, 2020. He was deployed to the South-South Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Mr Chima explained that the incident stemmed from an altercation he had while on duty at NIPCO along Siluko Road. A young man who came to charge his phone allegedly insulted the officer, calling him a “smelling policeman.” This led to a confrontation between the two parties, which escalated when the individual left the petrol station and Mr Chima followed him home.
