A 48-year-old Delmar man was charged with aggravated DWI after being found intoxicated behind the wheel with no license, registration, inspection, or insurance. Bethlehem police observed him turning into a residence he was not supposed to be at, leading to his arrest. In another incident, a 26-year-old man from Ravena crashed his vehicle on River Road due to poor weather conditions and was charged with DWI and DWAI. Additionally, a 39-year-old Delmar woman was arrested for DWI after failing field sobriety tests. These incidents highlight the importance of responsible driving and the consequences of driving under the influence in the UK.

Local man involved in another incident shortly before

A 48-year-old Delmar man found himself in hot water with Bethlehem police after he ignored their advice not to return to a local residence and not to drive due to suspected intoxication. The incident unfolded at approximately 3:34 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, when officers observed the man’s Kia SUV turning into the driveway of the forbidden residence. Upon approaching the man, officers noticed slurred speech, watery eyes, and the smell of alcohol on his breath.

Further investigation revealed that the man did not possess a valid license and the vehicle was lacking a valid registration, inspection, and insurance. Subsequently, at the Guilderland police station, the man provided a breath sample that returned a .11 percent BAC. As a result, he was charged with aggravated DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation, among other offenses, and given an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court on April 16.

DWAI on River Road

In another incident on Saturday, March 23, Bethlehem police responded to a property damage crash on River Road at approximately 5:04 a.m. Officers found an occupied vehicle in a ditch, with a 26-year-old man from Ravena admitting to driving the vehicle. Despite blaming poor weather conditions for the crash, the man displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests.

Subsequent testing at the police station revealed a .07 percent BAC, leading to charges of DWI and DWAI, along with other traffic violations. The man was issued an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court on April 2.

DWI on Kilmer

In the early hours of Monday, March 25, a Bethlehem road patrol observed a 2016 blue Jeep displaying erratic driving behavior on Delaware Avenue. Upon closer inspection, the driver, a 39-year-old Delmar woman, exhibited signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol before driving.

After failing field sobriety tests, the woman was taken into custody and charged with DWI, along with an unsafe lane change violation. She was given an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court on April 2.

DWAI-Drugs in 2021

Following a multi-vehicle crash on Route 9W on July 26, 2021, a 46-year-old Niskayuna woman, Kristin Bolduc, was recently taken into custody on an arrest warrant for DWAI-Drugs. Bolduc had been found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a Toyota involved in the crash, with subsequent testing revealing the presence of multiple substances in her system.

After being arraigned by Bethlehem Judge Ryan Donovan, Bolduc was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on May 7.

Trouble at hotel, two warrants

At the Comfort Inn on Route 9W, a customer named Frank Richardson became agitated with staff due to intoxication and dissatisfaction with his room. Despite registering a high BAC, Richardson was deemed fit to be taken into custody and was found to have two outstanding warrants from Albany and NY City police.

He was subsequently handed over to Albany City South Station officers, with no charges pressed by the hotel.

Warrant

Joseph Michasiow, a 54-year-old Albany man, was arrested by Albany police for failing to appear in court for a February DWI arrest. After being arraigned by Bethlehem Town Judge Ryan Donovan, Michasiow was released on his own recognizance to return to court on May 7.

Larceny and two warrants

A homeless man named Bowie Bouchard was arrested for petit larceny at Marshall’s and found to have two outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions. Bouchard was charged with petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court, before being transported to meet officers from Guilderland.
