The Rochester Police Department responded to reports of an impaired driver in a parking lot in southwest Rochester. Stucki was found naked inside the vehicle, making erratic movements. Despite police commands, he refused to exit the vehicle, leading to his arrest after officers broke the passenger window. A blood test revealed the presence of amphetamine and methamphetamine. Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – A bizarre incident unfolded in the Fall of 2022 in southern Minnesota when a man was charged with drugged driving in Rochester. The unusual arrest took place on October 13, 2022, just before 11:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in southwest Rochester, according to the criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court.
Rochester Police Respond to Naked Suspected Drugged Driver
The Rochester Police Department responded to a report of an impaired driver in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers found a naked man, identified as 31-year-old John Joseph Stucki, inside a vehicle in the driver’s seat. Stucki was reportedly making rapid movements and breathing shallowly.
Despite the keys being in the center console, Stucki refused to unlock the doors and exit the vehicle when asked by officers. As a result, police had to break the vehicle’s passenger window to remove Stucki. During the altercation, Stucki allegedly spat on one of the officers.

Drugs Detected in Blood Test
Following the arrest, police obtained a search warrant to draw a blood sample from Stucki for testing. The results revealed the presence of amphetamine and methamphetamine in his blood, leading to charges of Fourth-Degree Assault of a Police Officer and a gross misdemeanor DWI Controlled Substance offense.
Prior Conviction and Court Appearance
Records indicate that Stucki had a previous DWI conviction in Dakota County six months prior to the Rochester incident, stemming from a 2019 encounter with law enforcement. Stucki is scheduled to make his first appearance in Olmsted County Court next month to address the recent charges.
