The Delhi Police has successfully recovered the SUV belonging to the wife of BJP President J.P. Nadda, which was stolen from a service center in Govindpuri, Delhi, over two weeks ago. Three auto-lifters from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested in connection with the case. The white Toyota Fortuner, registered in Himachal Pradesh, was stolen on March 19. After a thorough investigation and following CCTV footage, the police tracked down the culprits in Haryana. The main accused, Shivansh Tripathi, confessed to the crime and revealed details of the theft operation. The stolen SUV was traced to Varanasi, leading to the recovery of the vehicle.

The Delhi Police has successfully recovered the stolen SUV belonging to the wife of BJP President J.P. Nadda from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This comes after more than two weeks since the vehicle was stolen from a service centre in Govindpuri, Delhi. The breakthrough in the case came with the arrest of three individuals identified as Shivansh Tripathi (23), Saleem (34), and Mohammad Raees (33), all hailing from Uttar Pradesh.

Details of the Incident

The white Toyota Fortuner, registered in Himachal Pradesh under the name of J.P. Nadda’s wife, was reported stolen from southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri on March 19. The theft occurred when the driver, Joginder, briefly left the vehicle at a service centre. Following the complaint lodged by Joginder, an e-FIR was filed at the Govindpuri police station, initiating the investigation.

Investigation and Arrests

The case was subsequently transferred to the Anti-Auto Theft Squad of Southeast Delhi, leading to the formation of a dedicated team. Through the analysis of CCTV footage, the team traced the stolen SUV to Budkal in Faridabad, Haryana. The first breakthrough in the case came on March 22 with the apprehension of Shivansh Tripathi near the Patiala House Court.

Perpetrators and Modus Operandi

During interrogation, Tripathi revealed his involvement in the theft, along with his associates Shahid, Farooq, and Shahkul. The stolen vehicle was taken to Farooq’s farmhouse in Faridabad before being sold to Saleem from Lakhimpur Kheri. Saleem, in turn, sold the SUV to Mohammad Raees, leading the police to its recovery in Varanasi.

With the arrest of all the accused, the Delhi Police have successfully resolved two cases of vehicle theft. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further details and potential connections to the stolen luxury car trade across the country, including the Northeast region.
