The Tragic Murder in Mahalaxmi Nagar

A seemingly ordinary evening turned into a nightmare for the residents of Mahalaxmi Nagar as a minor incident of harassment escalated into a brutal murder. The peaceful neighbourhood under the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar police station was shaken by the violent altercation that resulted in the loss of a young man’s life.

The victim, 28-year-old Ranjit Baburao Rathod, was a well-respected cloth dealer and grocery shop owner in the area. His untimely death has left his family, including his wife and four daughters, devastated. On the other hand, the perpetrators of this heinous crime were identified as 25-year-old Akash Dinesh Raut, Jayashree Dipak Panjhade (24), and Savita Sayre (24), all residents of different parts of the city.

The tragic incident unfolded on a Saturday evening near Bakde Hall when the two women arrived at the location via Ola to buy clothes. Ranjit, who was innocently standing outside a paan shop, unintentionally caught the attention of the women. During the altercation, Jayashree reached out to her friend’s brother, Akash, who wasted no time in arriving at the scene. In a fit of rage, Akash confronted Ranjit and, without hesitation, stabbed him multiple times in the chest and stomach. The brutal attack left Ranjit lying in a pool of blood as Akash fled from the scene, leaving behind a trail of shock and horror.
