Two individuals tragically lost their lives in separate incidents at JN Pharma City in Visakhapatnam, with five others sustaining injuries. A methyl nitrate gas leak at Alkali Metals Company claimed the life of 33-year-old Ch Ramana, while five others were hospitalized. Additionally, at Aurobindo Pharma, a 35-year-old man named A Govind died during a pressure testing mishap. The CPM Anakapalli District Committee is calling for Rs 1 crore compensation for the families of the deceased and improved medical care for the injured workers, as well as a thorough investigation into the accidents. The incidents highlight the importance of workplace safety measures in industrial settings.

Tragic Incidents at JN Pharma City

In a tragic turn of events, two individuals lost their lives and five others were injured in separate incidents at JN Pharma City, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located within the Parawada police station limits in Anakapalle district, Visakhapatnam.

Leakage of Methyl Nitrate Gas

According to the Factories Inspector at Alkali Metals Company Narayana, a leakage of methyl nitrate gas occurred around 4:30 am, leading to the unfortunate demise of 33-year-old Ch Ramana. The incident also left five others injured, who were promptly rushed to KIMS Hospital for medical treatment. The injured individuals have been identified as Raveendra (28), V Apparao (53), Y Gopalarao (41), A Srinivasa Rao (38), and S Sivakumar (43).

Pressure Testing Tragedy at Aurobindo Pharma

In a separate incident at Aurobindo Pharma, a devastating accident occurred during the pressure testing of a vacuum tray dryer, resulting in the death of 35-year-old A Govind. The loss of life has left the community in shock and mourning.

Call for Justice

Following the tragic incidents, the CPM Anakapalli District Committee has demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore each for the families of the deceased individuals. They have also called for better medical care for the injured workers and a thorough investigation into the accidents to prevent such incidents from reoccurring in the future.
