A man tragically lost his life after being intentionally hit by an SUV in Brockton, Massachusetts. Stuart Smith, 50, succumbed to his injuries late Saturday night, more than 12 hours after the incident. The driver of the vehicle, Vasco Semedo, 45, now faces a felony charge. Brockton police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the pedestrian accident at 65 North Main Street. Reports came flooding in to Brockton police around 8:53 a.m. on Saturday, detailing a horrific pedestrian accident at 65 North Main Street. Officers arrived to find Smith lying unconscious on the sidewalk next to a Toyota Rav 4, with Vasco Semedo, the SUV driver, being restrained by bystanders.
The Unfortunate Outcome
Smith was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital and later airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries at 10:34 p.m. Semedo, who was initially charged with attempted murder, now faces a felony charge of murder following Smith’s passing.
