The Tragic Murder of Engineering Student in Pune

Bhagyashree, a student of B.E. Computers at G H Raisoni College in Wagholi, went missing after visiting Phoenix Mall in Viman Nagar around 9 pm on March 30. Her worried parents, unable to reach her on her cell phone, lodged a missing report at the Vimantal police station in Pune. To their horror, they started receiving calls from her phone demanding a ransom of Rs 9 lakh for her safe return.
An FIR of kidnapping and extortion was filed at the Vimantal police station, leading to a swift investigation by a police team headed by senior inspector Anand Khobre. The investigation took a grim turn when a financial transaction was traced to the victim’s bank account, leading to the arrest of three suspects – Shivam Fulwale, Sagar Jadhav, and Suresh Indure, all in their twenties.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed that the three suspects had murdered Bhagyashree on the same night she went missing, before attempting to extort money from her family. Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijaykumar Magar revealed that the prime suspect, Shivam, was a fellow student at the engineering college where the victim studied, with the other two suspects being his friends.
According to police reports, the assailants kidnapped Bhagyashree from the Phoenix Mall area and strangled her to death in a car. They then proceeded to demand ransom from her parents using her cell phone, while burying her body at a secluded spot in Supa Village in Ahmednagar district.
The motive behind the heinous crime appears to be financial problems faced by the accused, leading them to resort to kidnapping and extortion. The shocking nature of the incident has left the community in disbelief, as they grapple with the senseless loss of a promising young life.
