Investigation into Nanakmatta Gurdwara Murder Case Unfolds Economic and Property Angle
Police officers delving into the murder case of Nanakmatta Gurdwara Dera Kar Seva chief Baba Tarsem Singh are now focusing on the economic and property aspects behind the crime. According to sources familiar with the matter, significant leads have emerged suggesting that these factors could be potential motives for the murder.
The special investigation team (SIT) recently made a breakthrough in the case by apprehending four suspects, namely Dilbagh Singh, Amandeep Singh alias Kala, Harminder alias Pindi, and Balkar Singh. While the triggermen remain at large, the police have identified Dilbagh Singh as the primary plotter behind the heinous act.
Key Suspects and Their Roles
Rudrapur Superintendent of Police City, Manoj Katyal, shed light on the intricate details of the conspiracy. Dilbagh Singh, the alleged mastermind, had direct contact with the shooters both before and after the murder. Amandeep Singh alias Kala, a local accomplice, facilitated the crime by providing crucial information about Baba Tarsem Singh’s whereabouts. Furthermore, Harminder alias Pindi and Balkar Singh played pivotal roles in orchestrating the murder scheme.
Interestingly, Dilbagh Singh and one of the assailants, Sarbjit Singh, shared a history dating back to their time in a prison facility in Uttar Pradesh. Their acquaintance dates back to 2014, and both individuals have a criminal record with charges ranging from serious offences to attempted murder.

Contract Killing for Monetary Gain
According to SSP Manjunath TC, Dilbagh Singh and his associates enlisted the services of Sarbjit and another accomplice, Amarjeet, in exchange for a sum of ₹10 lakh to eliminate Baba Tarsem Singh.
Regarding the involvement of three individuals named in the FIR, including retired IAS officer Harvansh Singh Chugh, the police clarified that while they had prior disputes with the victim, there is no concrete evidence linking them to the murder at this stage.
As the investigation unfolds, the authorities are meticulously scrutinising all leads and connections to ensure that justice is served in the tragic case of Baba Tarsem Singh’s untimely demise at Nanakmatta Gurdwara.
