Following the report, the Gohad police launched an investigation and were able to arrest the accused on Wednesday. Initially, Hariram denied any involvement in the killing, but upon being taken to the crime scene by the police, he broke down and confessed to the heinous act. Samples of the cremation ashes were collected for forensic analysis to gather further evidence in the case.

According to the police, the couple had been married for nine years and had tragically lost two children to illness. They had since adopted a relative’s daughter, who is now 4 years old, and had a son just a year ago. Both children were under the care of their grandparents at the time of the incident.
