The Tragic Murder of a 55-year-old Cadillac Man
In a quiet town in Wexford County, Michigan, a shocking incident has rocked the community. Reports have surfaced regarding the alleged murder of a 55-year-old man in Cadillac, whose body was discovered buried in his own backyard back in February.
Preliminary Investigations Underway
Wexford County Prosecutor Corey Wiggins has confirmed that his office has received the preliminary police report on the case. However, he is still awaiting crucial reports, including toxicology and autopsy results, which will determine the official cause of death. Without this vital information, no charges have been filed in connection with the murder.
The investigation began when police were alerted to the disappearance of the 55-year-old Cadillac man on February 20. His truck, dog, phone, and other personal belongings were found at his residence. During a search of the property, authorities discovered a disturbed area behind the house, prompting further investigation.

Upon obtaining a search warrant, detectives began excavating the area and uncovered disturbing evidence, including burnt wood, tires, remnants of clothing, and a piece of what appeared to be flesh. Additional search warrants were issued, and the Michigan State Police (MSP) crime lab was brought in to assist with the excavation.
An autopsy was conducted at the Western Michigan University Department of Pathology, revealing that the man’s death was indeed a homicide. However, specific details surrounding the case have been withheld as the investigation continues. The victim’s name has also not been released to the public.
