VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – The San Bernardino County coroner has identified a man killed in a crash on Amargosa Road as 22-year-old Abel S. Navarrete, a beloved Victorville resident. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, March 30, 2024, near the intersection of Amargosa Road and Ramada Drive, has left the community in mourning.
Abel’s wife, Angelica, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral costs and unexpected expenses following the fatal accident. The Navarrete family is reeling from the loss of a husband, son, and friend, and any support is greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
According to eyewitness reports, a tragic collision occurred between a 2001 gray Chevy Tahoe and a burgundy Infiniti sedan. The SUV, traveling south on Amargosa Road, was struck by the sedan, causing extensive damage and resulting in critical injuries to the occupants.
Emergency responders worked tirelessly to free the victims from the wreckage. Sadly, Abel Navarrete succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Another occupant of the sedan was airlifted to a trauma center with severe injuries, while the driver of the Tahoe sustained minor injuries.
