VICTORVILLE, California (VVNG.com) – A devastating crash on Amargosa Road has left the Victorville community in mourning after the loss of 22-year-old Abel S. Navarrete. The San Bernardino County Coroner confirmed Navarrete’s identity following the fatal accident that occurred near the intersection of Amargosa Road and Ramada Drive on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at approximately 2:20 pm.
Details of the Incident
Witnesses at the scene reported a harrowing scene involving a gray 2001 Chevy Tahoe and a burgundy Infiniti sedan. According to eyewitness accounts, the sedan crossed into the path of the oncoming Tahoe while traveling south on Amargosa Road, resulting in a devastating collision.
First responders worked tirelessly to extract victims from the wreckage, with the sedan’s occupants suffering serious injuries. Tragically, Navarrete succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at a local hospital. Another individual in the sedan was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.
The driver of the Tahoe sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
