Salt Lake City Police have identified the man shot and killed by police early Tuesday morning near the Ballpark Neighborhood. The man was identified as 35-year-old Cameron Ammon Cloward.
The incident took place at a convenience store near 875 S. State Street in Salt Lake City. A call came to dispatch about a person with a weapon in a gas station, said Brent Weisberg, spokesman for the Salt Lake City Police Department public relations department. An earlier police briefing revealed the man was shot and killed, and four SLCPD officers were placed on paid administrative leave as a result of the officer-involved shooting.
