Police have arrested a man in connection with an armed home invasion last month in East Haven where two men allegedly forced their way into a residence seeking an expensive cat. William Pagan, 23, of New Haven, has been charged with home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, second-degree threatening, first-degree unlawful restraint, and sixth-degree larceny. Pagan was taken into custody on Glade Street in West Haven with assistance from the West Haven Police Department. The charges against Pagan stem from an alleged targeted attack on March 17 at a residence in the 100 block of Thompson Street. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Man Arrested in Connection with Armed Home Invasion in East Haven

Police have apprehended a man in connection with a terrifying armed home invasion that took place last month in the peaceful town of East Haven. The incident occurred on March 17 at a residence in the 100 block of Thompson Street, where two men forced their way into a home in search of a valuable cat.

Arrest of William Pagan

William Pagan, a 23-year-old resident of New Haven, has been charged with multiple offenses including home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, second-degree threatening, first-degree unlawful restraint, and sixth-degree larceny. Captain Joseph M. Murgo of the East Haven Police Department confirmed Pagan’s arrest, stating that he was taken into custody on Glade Street in West Haven with the assistance of the West Haven Police Department. Pagan is currently being held on a bond of $750,000 and was arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on Tuesday.

The Violent Home Invasion

The incident unfolded when two men attempted to gain entry into the residence through a rear slider door. A struggle ensued between the intruders and a resident who bravely fought to keep them out. Despite the resident’s efforts, the men managed to break through a glass pane on the slider and enter the home. Armed with a gun, the intruders demanded the valuable cat belonging to the resident.

Fortunately, the resident was able to defend themselves and thwart the intruders’ attempts to locate the cat. After a brief search, the intruders left empty-handed, fleeing the scene in a blue BMW that was later recovered in Hamden for further investigation.
