Four agricultural workers, including three women, tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident that occurred on the Ara-Buxar national highway near Ranisagar village in Bhojpur district. The incident took place late Saturday night when the pickup van they were travelling in overturned, resulting in the fatalities and injuring at least 12 others.
According to Kumar Rajnikant, the Station House Officer of Shahpur police station, the accident happened around 11.30 pm, leaving the community in shock and mourning. The victims were identified as Sita Sundari Devi (51), Ramdulari Devi (55), Mangari Devi (45), and Saroj Kumar (35). While Saroj hailed from Rohtas, the three women victims were residents of Buxar.
Shiv Bachan Ram, one of the injured individuals, recounted the harrowing experience to reporters at the sadar hospital. He revealed that a total of 21 persons were on board the pickup van, all returning home after a long day of working in an agricultural field at Madhavpur Pipri village. As they approached the diversion near Ranisagar village, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.
