Yucaipa Man Arrested for Jewelry Store Burglary

A Yucaipa man was taken into custody on Saturday in connection with a burglary at a local jewelry store. The incident took place at Marlene’s Jewelry on Yucaipa Blvd, where deputies discovered a back door propped open and a large hole cut in an interior wall.

Caught in the Act

Authorities were able to identify the suspect through video surveillance footage, which showed an adult male wearing shorts and an Under Armour sweatshirt attempting to break into the store. The same individual was seen pulling a wagon on the side of the business before trying to cut the front door lock with a reciprocating saw.

During their investigation, deputies noticed a man observing the scene from across the street. The individual quickly fled on a bicycle but was apprehended shortly after. The man, later identified as Justin Flood, was found to be covered in drywall debris and insulation, matching the materials found at the crime scene.

Incriminating Evidence

Upon further inspection, deputies discovered a red canvas wagon containing power tools, pry bars, and a reciprocating saw. An independent witness also reported seeing Flood with the same wagon earlier in the evening, providing additional evidence linking him to the burglary.
