Police in Westminster have arrested the suspect wanted in a deadly hit-and-run over the weekend. August Alonzo Romero, 40, is suspected of intentionally hitting and killing a man in Westminster on Saturday night. Romero was driving a 2016 black Dodge Ram pickup truck that struck the victim before fleeing the scene. He has been charged with first-degree murder-injury with a deadly weapon. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued a Medina Alert for the missing Dodge Ram with license plate EEI-A89. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Westminster Police Department. Police in Westminster have apprehended the suspect sought in a fatal hit-and-run incident over the weekend. Authorities have identified the individual as August Alonzo Romero, who is believed to have deliberately struck and killed a man in Westminster on Saturday night.

Westminster Police
Romero, aged 40, is suspected of operating the 2016 black Dodge Ram pickup truck involved in the incident, after which he fled the scene. Following his arrest on Sunday evening, Romero was taken into custody and booked into the Adams County Detention Facility on charges of first-degree murder- injury with a deadly weapon.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued a Medina Alert for the Dodge Ram with license plate EEI-A89, which remains unaccounted for.
Westminster Police
Westminster Police Department responded to the incident at Alcott Street and Zuni Street just before 10:30 p.m. The victim, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his wounds.
The altercation between the victim and the suspect, identified as Romero, culminated in the deliberate act of the victim being struck by the suspect’s truck before the suspect fled the scene.

The identity of the victim remains undisclosed at this time.
