A tragic incident occurred in Gujarat’s Devbhumi Dwarka district where four members of a family, including an infant, died in a house fire. The blaze broke out on the first floor of their residence, leaving the family trapped as they struggled to find the exit due to a power outage. Fire officials arrived at the scene and found the family unconscious, but unfortunately, they were declared dead upon reaching the hospital. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a blast in an air conditioner. The deceased have been identified as Pawan Upadhyay, his wife Tithi, daughter Dhyana, and mother Bhavaniben.

Tragedy struck a family in Gujarat’s Devbhumi Dwarka district as four members, including an infant, lost their lives in a devastating fire that broke out at their residence on Aditya Road in Dwarka city in the early hours of Sunday (March 31). The victims, who were asleep at the time of the incident, succumbed to asphyxiation due to the thick smoke that engulfed their home, according to police inspector TC Patel. The family’s escape was impeded by the sudden power outage caused by the fire, preventing them from locating the exit door in time.

Emergency Response
Upon receiving the distress call, fire officials swiftly arrived at the scene to find a couple, their 8-month-old daughter, and the man’s mother unconscious on the first floor of the house. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to a nearby government hospital, the doctors tragically declared them all brought dead. Miraculously, the man’s grandmother, who was sleeping on the ground floor, managed to escape unscathed.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the fire may have originated from a malfunctioning air conditioner that overheated and led to a catastrophic blast. Forensic experts have been summoned to determine the exact cause of the fire, shedding light on the tragic chain of events that resulted in the family’s untimely demise.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Pawan Upadhyay (39), his wife Tithi (29), their daughter Dhyana, and Pawan’s mother Bhavaniben (69), leaving a void in the hearts of their loved ones and the community at large.
