Police attached a two-storeyed residential house owned by a notorious drug peddler in Baramulla district, Kashmir. The property, worth approximately Rs. 30.00 lakhs, belonged to Azad Ahmad Mir. Similarly, in Kulgam district, another property owned by Sabzar Ahmad Rather was attached, again worth around Rs. 30.00 lakhs. Police Seize Drug Peddler’s Residential House in Baramulla District
In a significant crackdown on drug peddlers, the police have attached a two-storeyed residential house owned by a notorious drug peddler in Baramulla district. The property, valued at approximately Rs. 30.00 lakhs, belonged to Azad Ahmad Mir, son of Ab Aziz Mir, a resident of Dardkote Uri in Baramulla.
This action was taken under Sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985 in connection with case FIR No.222/2021 under sections 8/21, 29 of the NDPS Act at PS Uri. The property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of a police investigation and was believed to have been obtained through the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The police’s operation against drug peddlers in the area has been met with widespread support from the local community, who have praised the authorities for their efforts to combat the drug menace.
Residential House of Another Drug Peddler Seized in Kulgam District
Continuing their crackdown on drug peddlers, the Kulgam Police also attached a residential property belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the district. The double-storeyed residential house, valued at approximately Rs. 30 lakhs, belonged to Sabzar Ahmad Rather, son of Abdul Salam Rather, a resident of Malipora, Devsar, who is currently in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu under PIT NDPS Act.

Similar to the operation in Baramulla, this action was taken under Sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985 in connection with case FIR no 02/2019 under sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Qazigund and case FIR No. 07/2023 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Devsar.
Once again, the property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of a police investigation and was believed to have been obtained through the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
