The Horrifying Rape Incident in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi
It has been nineteen days since the shocking rape of a mother of two unfolded in the bustling city of Karachi, specifically in the neighbourhood of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The victim, who is the wife of Ali Shan, bravely shared her harrowing experience with The Express Tribune, shedding light on the traumatic events that transpired.
The Deceptive Promise of Employment
The victim recounted how she had innocently befriended a man named Syed Ali on Facebook two months prior to the incident. Little did she know that this seemingly friendly acquaintance would lead her to a nightmare scenario. Syed Ali, under the guise of offering her a job opportunity, lured her to an apartment located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Block 19.
A Terrifying Ordeal Unfolds
Upon arriving at the apartment, the victim was met by Mubeen, a companion of Syed Ali, who was already present at the scene. To her horror, Mubeen brandished a handgun and issued chilling threats, warning her of dire consequences if she raised an alarm. Despite her desperate pleas and disclosure of being a mother of two, the accused callously proceeded to sexually assault her, leaving her traumatized and shattered.
A Cry for Justice
Following the harrowing ordeal, the victim mustered the courage to report the incident at the Sharea Faisal police station, where a case was promptly registered against the perpetrators, Syed Ali and Mubeen. She underwent a thorough medical examination, during which crucial DNA samples were collected as evidence.

The Frustrating Lack of Progress
Despite her cooperation with the authorities, the victim expressed deep frustration at the sluggish pace of the investigation. She lamented the limited efforts made by the police, citing only one raid conducted thus far. Her repeated visits to the police station yielded little cooperation from the investigating officer, exacerbating her anguish and sense of helplessness.
A Plea for Swift Justice
In a desperate plea for justice, the victim revealed that both Syed Ali and Mubeen had been granted pre-arrest bail, further compounding her distress. She has since reached out to high-ranking police officials, including the IG Sindh, AIG Karachi, DIG East, and other officers, urging them to expedite the arrest of the accused and ensure that they face the full brunt of the law.
