A teenager from Alpharetta, Georgia, was indicted on multiple charges following a fatal crash in Texas that claimed the lives of six family members and left three others seriously injured. Luke Resecker, 18, faces charges including intoxication manslaughter and marijuana possession for the tragic incident. The crash occurred when Resecker’s pickup truck veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Honda minivan carrying the Alpharetta family members. The sole survivor, Lokesh Potabathula, suffered severe injuries and may never walk again. Resecker was arraigned on several charges and released on bail due to medical conditions. Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of his injuries and his involvement in the crash.

Texas Department of Public Safety Officer William Lockridge reported that Resecker swerved into oncoming traffic, causing the fatal collision. The occupants of the Honda Odyssey, all from Alpharetta, included Naveena Potabathula, Nageswararao Ponnada, Sitamahalakshmi Ponnada, Kruthik Potabathula, and Nishidha Potabathula. Tragically, Rushil Barri, the cousin of the family, also lost his life in the accident.

Lokesh Potabathula, the sole survivor of the crash, underwent multiple surgeries for injuries including a broken arm and ankle, as well as neck and spine injuries that may impact his ability to walk again. The Alpharetta community rallied around the family, raising nearly $200,000 to support them in the wake of the tragedy.

Following the crash, Resecker was indicted on charges including intoxication manslaughter, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. Despite posting bail and being released, he faces serious legal consequences for his actions on that fateful day.
