The incident occurred on U.S. 67 in a no-passing zone, where a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 18-year-old Luke Resecker collided head-on with a Honda Odyssey carrying members of the same Alpharetta family.

The crash resulted in the tragic deaths of six family members, including Naveena Potabathula, 36, Nageswararao Ponnada, 64, Sitamahalakshmi Ponnada, 60, Kruthik Potabathula, 10, Nishidha Potabathula, 9, and Rushil Barri. The sole survivor, Lokesh Potabathula, sustained severe injuries that may impact his ability to walk.
Charges Filed Against Teen Driver
Following the crash, Luke Resecker was arraigned on multiple charges, including DUI manslaughter, DUI assault, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana. Despite his health conditions, Resecker posted bail and was released with a home monitored restriction.
