Forest Official Fatally Crushed by Mini Truck in Cox’s Bazar

A tragic incident occurred in Harinmara, Cox’s Bazar on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a forest official who was crushed by a mini truck (dumper).
The victim, identified as Md Sajjaduzzaman, aged 30, was the in-charge of the Dochari forest beat in the Ukhiya range. He hailed from Gajaria in Munshiganj. The driver of the dumper, Mohammad Ali, was also injured in the incident.
Forest department officials reported that Sajjad had led a raid based on information regarding hill cutting and soil collection activities at Harinmara involving a dumper. Upon obstructing the soil-laden dumper, the driver callously ran over Sajjad, leading to his untimely demise.
Gazi Shafiul Alam, the Ukhiya range officer, confirmed that the dumper belonged to a certain Syed Karim, while the driver was identified as Bappi.
Following the tragic incident, Sajjad’s body was taken to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, as stated by Shamim Hossain, the officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station.
The community is left mourning the loss of a dedicated forest official, and the authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure justice is served.
