Man Arrested for Impaired Driving After Crash in Gilsum, New Hampshire

A 29-year-old man has been taken into custody for driving under the influence following a collision in Gilsum, New Hampshire, that resulted in two individuals being airlifted to the hospital. The incident took place on Friday evening at 644 Route 10, a picturesque rural area known for its winding roads and scenic views.

New Hampshire State Police were alerted to the crash at approximately 6:20 p.m., involving a Ford Transit van and a Kia Seltos. The Ford was travelling northbound on Route 10, while the Kia was heading south. The vehicles met in a devastating collision, leaving both severely damaged and the occupants in critical condition.

Injuries and Medical Response

The driver of the Kia, 81-year-old David Bosma, and his passenger, Kathleen Bosma, sustained serious injuries in the crash. David was rushed to Cheshire Medical Center before being transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center via a DHART medical helicopter. Kathleen was also airlifted to Concord Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

The driver of the Ford, identified as Alexander Bazarnicki, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He was subsequently released on bail and is expected to appear in Keene District Court for further legal proceedings.
