A second-year BTech student, Ritam Verman (21), allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room at Amity University in Ghaziabad. The police found him hanging from the ceiling fan with a plastic rope. The university expressed condolences to Ritam’s family and pledged cooperation with authorities. In a separate incident, the bodies of two minors were found in Assam. One of the bodies was decomposed and unidentified, while the other two boys were missing from Jamunatari village.

In a separate incident last month, a video of two groups of suspected students fighting outside Amity University went viral on social media. Police identified four students involved and registered an FIR against them. The university spokesperson stated that they would take action if the students were found to be from their institution.

In recent news, a decomposed body of an unidentified man was found in Sarvey Vaddo, Guirim, Mapusa. The Mapusa police conducted a panchnama and transferred the body to Goa Medical College, Bambolim for further investigation. Additionally, the bodies of two minor boys were found in a paddy field in Kokrajhar, Assam. The boys, Nurjamal Haque and Rakibul Ali, were missing from Jamunatari village.
