A man in Adams County, Miss., was arrested for pepper spraying a deputy during an arrest attempt. The man, identified as Orion Evans, had an active indictment against him. When the deputy tried to arrest Evans, he resisted, pulled out pepper spray, and sprayed the deputy multiple times. Evans had three cans of pepper spray on him. The deputy called for backup and managed to apprehend Evans. Evans faces charges of simple assault on a law enforcement officer, failure to comply, and resisting arrest. Man Arrested for Pepper Spraying Adams County Deputy in Mississippi

In a recent incident in Adams County, Mississippi, a man named Orion Evans was arrested after pepper spraying a deputy during an attempted arrest. The incident took place on Homochitto Street and John R. Junkin Drive on a Friday afternoon when a deputy from the sheriff’s office spotted Evans, who had an active indictment for his arrest.

According to Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten, when the deputy tried to arrest Evans, the suspect resisted and proceeded to spray the deputy in the face multiple times with pepper spray. Evans was found to be in possession of three cans of pepper spray at the time of the incident.

Following the attack, the deputy called for backup, and Evans was eventually taken into custody. Evans now faces charges of simple assault on a law enforcement officer, failure to comply, and resisting arrest. In addition, he was served with an indictment for a previous incident on February 20, 2023, where he used pepper spray on a Natchez Police officer.

As of now, Evans is being held without bond as the investigation continues.
