A man was found dead within the office premises of the additional director of health services in Guwahati. The deceased, identified as Krishna Sharma, was a security guard at the office. Police found no injury marks on his body and suspect he may have died of a heart attack. The body has been sent for post mortem at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. A case of unnatural death has been registered. Guwahati: A tragic incident unfolded in the Pathar Quarry locality under the jurisdiction of Noonmati police station on Friday morning, as a man was found dead within the office premises of the additional director of health services. The deceased has been identified as Krishna Sharma, a 52-year-old resident of Noonmati who worked as a security guard in the office.
Upon receiving the information at 9:30 am, the Noonmati Police Station OC Uttam Tamang immediately rushed to the scene. The body of Sharma was discovered inside the security guard’s office, with his colleagues reporting that the door was locked from the inside. Initial inspection revealed no visible injury marks on Sharma’s body, and no objects were found in the room that could explain his death.
Tamang stated that the police have sent Sharma’s body to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem examination. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Noonmati Police Station, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of Sharma’s demise.

The family members of the deceased have expressed suspicions that Sharma may have suffered a heart attack leading to his sudden passing. However, Tamang emphasized that a definitive conclusion cannot be reached until the post-mortem report is released.
In other recent news, two minor boys’ bodies were found in a paddy field in Kokrajhar, Assam. The boys, identified as Nurjamal Haque and Rakibul Ali, had been reported missing from Jamunatari village. The police have launched an investigation into the tragic incident to uncover the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Meanwhile, in Mohali, Punjab, the police have come under scrutiny from the Punjab and Haryana High Court for allegedly assaulting a warrant officer. The court has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to reveal the identities of the officers involved in the assault, highlighting the importance of maintaining law and order within the region. The warrant officer faced resistance from black-uniformed officials, prompting an inquiry into the matter.
Lastly, in Goa, a decomposed body of a missing middle-aged man was discovered in Sarvey Vaddo, Mapusa. The man, known to be an alcoholic, had been reported missing prior to the grim discovery. Autopsy and DNA tests conducted at the Goa Medical College confirmed the man’s identity, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
