Man Found Shot and Killed in Antioch Identified

The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office has identified the man found shot and killed in a vehicle in Antioch as 36-year-old Frank James of Pittsburg. The incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Discovery of the Deceased

Authorities were alerted to the situation when the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District received a call at 5:22 a.m. reporting a deceased male in a vehicle. The vehicle was located in the 600 block of East 18th Street in Antioch.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Frank James inside a parked vehicle with at least one gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation by the Antioch Police Department.
