Police in Berhampur discovered the lifeless body of a 28-year-old man named M Lingaraj in Bati Siripur near Upalada in Gajapati district on Friday. Lingaraj, a peon in the minor irrigation department in Paralakhemundi, was on his way to attend a wedding in Gurandi when he was presumably attacked and killed by unknown assailants. The authorities recovered his body from the roadside and sent it for postmortem examination.
