The Bengaluru police have apprehended a 29-year-old woman from Rajasthan for stealing laptops from various paying guest accommodations in the city since 2022. Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, disclosed that the woman, identified as Jassu Agarwal, was caught with 24 laptops valued at ₹10 lakh. The thefts occurred in rented houses under the HAL police station jurisdiction, with cases registered as far back as October last year. The investigation led to the arrest of the accused, who targeted PG accommodations near software company hubs across Bengaluru. The stolen laptops were reportedly sold to shops in Marathahalli, Yelahanka, and Hebbal. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sivakumar, successfully cracked the case with the help of HAL Police Inspector and others.

In a recent incident in Bengaluru, the police arrested a 29-year-old woman from Rajasthan for her involvement in a series of laptop thefts from various paying guest accommodations across the city since 2022.
The Arrest
The Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, confirmed the arrest of the woman identified as Jassu Agarwal, with 24 laptops worth ₹10 lakh. The arrest came after a laptop, charger, and mouse were reported stolen from a rented house under the HAL police station jurisdiction, leading to a case being registered in October last year.

Investigation Details
Following the registration of the case, the police conducted a thorough investigation which ultimately led to the apprehension of the accused woman. During interrogation, it was revealed that the thefts involved three separate incidents, each from locations in HAL station, Koramangala, and Indiranagar.
Modus Operandi
The Rajasthan woman targeted paying guest accommodations in areas frequented by software companies and PG areas across Bengaluru, including Tin Factory, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Silkboard, Hebbala, Whitefield, and Mahadevpur. It was discovered that she was selling the stolen laptops to various laptop shops in Marathahalli, Yelahanka, and Hebbal.
Cracking the Case
Under the guidance of HAL Police Inspector and other officials, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Whitefield Division, Sivakumar, successfully cracked the case against the accused woman. The collaborative efforts of the law enforcement authorities led to the recovery of the stolen laptops and the arrest of the perpetrator.
