Chattanooga Police Respond to Shooting Incident in Batters Place Road

On the evening of March 29, 2024, Chattanooga Police Department received a distressing call regarding a person shot in the 8000 block of Batters Place Road. What was initially reported as shots fired turned out to be a tragic incident between a suspect and a victim.

As the officers arrived at the scene, the situation was quickly assessed and it was determined that there was no active shooter. Instead, they found a 30-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, prompting a swift response from Chattanooga Fire and Hamilton County EMS.

Efforts to Apprehend the Suspect

Despite the chaotic nature of the incident, CPD officers managed to locate the suspect in the nearby woods. With precision and efficiency, they surrounded the area and successfully apprehended the individual responsible for the crime.

The Homicide Unit of the Chattanooga Police Department was promptly dispatched to investigate the details surrounding the altercation. Identification of the Suspect

Davonte, who was found to be in possession of a firearm during the incident, was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

Following his arrest, Davonte Harris was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
