A man named Tofazzal Hossain, a civil staff of the Special Branch of police, was tragically killed in Dhaka’s Bakshibazar area after a bus crashed into a roadside electric pole. The incident occurred in front of Fazle Rabbi Hall of Dhaka Medical College around 5:00 pm. Tofazzal, who hailed from Konabhawal village, sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. A tragic accident occurred in the bustling area of Bakshibazar in Dhaka, resulting in the untimely death of a man named Tofazzal Hossain. The 30-year-old victim, who worked as a civil staff (reporter) at the Special Branch (SB) of the police, met his unfortunate demise when a bus collided with a roadside electric pole. The incident took place in front of Fazle Rabbi Hall of Dhaka Medical College around 5:00 pm, sending shockwaves through the community.
Eye-witnesses recounted the harrowing scene, with Imrul Hasan, a friend of the deceased, providing insights into Tofazzal’s background. Hailing from Konabhawal village in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj district, Tofazzal resided in a rented house in Mugda with his wife and child. The tragic turn of events unfolded as the bus, belonging to Thikana Paribahan, was en route to the Signboard area. A passenger named Mushfiqur Rahman revealed that Tofazzal was seated at the back of the bus when disaster struck.
The collision with the electric pole caused the glass at the rear of the bus to shatter, leading to fatal injuries for Tofazzal. Despite efforts to rush him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), doctors declared him dead at 5:45 pm. Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed the heartbreaking news and stated that Tofazzal’s body was transferred to the hospital morgue for further examination.
