The individual identified in the court documents is Christopher Williams, a 33-year-old man.
Authorities indicate that Williams had recently relocated to Arizona, having previously resided in Tennessee and Utah. Additionally, there exists an outstanding arrest warrant for Williams in Utah.

The incident transpired on March 8, with a call to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) reporting a collision near US-60 and Val Vista Drive at approximately 6:47 p.m.
According to the court documents, while responding to the initial collision, troopers were alerted to a subsequent crash involving an aggressive male armed with a knife inside a Chevrolet Malibu. Despite the presence of law enforcement, the male, identified as Williams, refused to exit the vehicle.
Authorities resorted to using force, including less-lethal rounds, a taser, and physical intervention, to extract Williams from the vehicle. Both Williams and a female passenger, believed to be his girlfriend, were transported to the hospital.
What precipitated the standoff?
The genesis of the barricade situation stemmed from Williams’ girlfriend terminating their relationship prior to the collision.
Troopers on-site learned that an argument had ensued between Williams and his female companion during their journey, triggered by comments Williams directed at a young female child in their shared residence.
The woman agreed to accompany Williams to collect a paycheck but dozed off during the drive. Upon awakening, she realised they were on US-60 and felt uncomfortable being far from her children at home.
Attempting to contact her father, the woman had her phone confiscated and tossed out the window by Williams. He also obstructed her from fastening her seatbelt, forcefully grabbed her, and appeared to steer the vehicle towards other trucks, leading her to fear for her safety.
The collision ensued, involving multiple vehicles, including a white GMC truck occupied by two adults and a minor. The impact caused the white GMC to momentarily lose control before coming to a halt.
What charges does the suspect face?
Williams stands accused of four counts of aggravated assault (A.R.S. 13-1204A), one count of attempted 2nd-degree murder (A.R.S. 13-1104A), and four counts of endangerment (A.R.S. 13-1201A), all classified as felonies.
A judge has established a $100,000 secured appearance bond for Williams, with stipulations including electronic monitoring and a prohibition on contacting the alleged victims should he post bail. A preliminary hearing for Williams is scheduled for April 4.
