Authorities responded to a residence in the 12200 block of Stevenson Ct in Woodbridge on March 21 after family members reported that Cooks had not picked up her child from daycare. It was later revealed that an acquaintance of the victim, 28-year-old Brendon Devon White, was seen driving Cooks’ vehicle in Newport News City, while her personal belongings remained at her Woodbridge residence.
Suspect in Custody
White was apprehended by Newport News police and is expected to be transported back to Prince William County to face charges in connection with Cooks’ death. Detectives were able to locate the victim’s body in a trash collection truck that had been stopped and secured on Friday morning.

In a separate incident, a man tragically lost his life following a deadly shooting outside of Club Tempo in Dumfries. Authorities responded to the scene early Saturday morning and found the victim, identified as 38-year-old Carvell Jarmain Williams of Warrenton, suffering from gunshot wounds.
