Concerned for his well-being, a search party was immediately formed to locate him.

For two days, a dedicated team consisting of ground search and rescue personnel, a helicopter, and police dogs scoured the area in a desperate attempt to find Young. Despite their efforts, the official search was called off on August 7, 2017. However, his family and friends refused to give up hope and continued to comb through the region in search of any clues that could lead them to him.
