A tragic case of mistaken identity led to the brutal double murder of two friends in Ranhola, outer Delhi. The suspects, seeking revenge for a robbery on their friend, mistakenly targeted innocent men named Mukesh and Rajesh. Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the crime. The victims, Mukesh and Rajesh, were hardworking individuals, with Mukesh supporting his family as the sole breadwinner. The suspects, fueled by vengeance, beat and ultimately stabbed the victims to death. This senseless act has left families devastated and the community shocked. Police have arrested four people in the case – Gaurav (23), Keshri Kumar Pandey (35), Sandesh Kumar (28) and Gaurav (22). During interrogation, the suspects claimed that one of their friends was robbed by two men named Anand and Puneet and their associates on March 15. Two days later, someone informed them that Anand’s associates were drinking near a wall. They went there and stabbed the men to death, but it later turned out that the victims were not part of any gang. Police reached the spot after receiving a PCR call about the incident and found two bleeding men on the road. Both of them had stab wounds on the chest.
The accused were seeking revenge for a robbery. They were taken to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival. The deceased were identified as Mukesh (34), who worked as a loader, and Rajesh (33), a driver. They lived in Baprola village.
Seeking revenge on the men who had robbed their friend, the accused began searching for them. On March 17, when they heard of them being sighted, they went on two bikes and began beating Mukesh, Rajesh, and Sonu with sticks. Subsequently, they stabbed them, resulting in the deaths of two of them.

Mukesh was the sole breadwinner for his family. He lived with his mother and 11-year-old son. Rajesh was unmarried. According to his family members, Rajesh had gone out around 8 pm after telling his mother he would return soon.
The incident has shocked the local community and raised concerns about the prevalence of violence in the area. Residents are calling for increased police presence and stricter measures to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
In response to the incident, Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana has assured the public that the police are taking the case seriously and will ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. He has also urged the community to come forward with any information that may help in the investigation.
The tragic deaths of Mukesh and Rajesh serve as a stark reminder of the consequences of vigilantism and the importance of resolving conflicts through peaceful means. The community is coming together to support the families of the victims and to demand justice for the senseless loss of life.
