Budaun Double Murder Case: Father of Victims Sets Bike on Fire in Outrage

In a heart-wrenching incident that took place in the Baba colony area of Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district, two innocent children lost their lives at the hands of barbers Sajid and Javed on March 19. The assailants brutally attacked Ayush, 12, Ahaan alias Honey, 8, and Yuvraj, 10, with a knife, resulting in the tragic death of Ayush and Ahaan, while Yuvraj sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

The father of the deceased children, Vinod Kumar, devastated by the loss of his sons, resorted to setting his bike ablaze in a fit of rage and even attempted to immolate himself. The police intervened just in time to prevent any harm to Vinod.

Expressing her anguish, Vinod’s mother Munni Devi voiced her frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation, stating that the police have failed to provide a clear motive for the heinous crime. She expressed suspicion that crucial information was being withheld by the authorities.

One Accused Slain, Another Proclaims Innocence

Following the incident, one of the accused, Sajid, was killed in a police encounter on the same day. Meanwhile, the other suspect, Javed, surrendered at the Satellite Police Outpost in the neighbouring Bareilly district on March 22. The district administration has initiated a magisterial inquiry into Sajid’s encounter to ensure transparency and justice.

Contrary to the allegations against him, Javed vehemently denied any involvement in the murders of Ayush and Ahaan. In a video that surfaced post the incident, Javed maintained his innocence, attributing the crime solely to his elder brother, Sajid. Javed recounted his escape to Delhi following the tragedy and subsequent surrender to the Uttar Pradesh police in Bareilly.

Javed adamantly asserted, “I am innocent. I had no part in the incident. My brother was responsible for the horrific act.” He pleaded for justice and maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal.

As the investigation unfolds and the truth gradually comes to light, the community in Budaun remains in shock and disbelief over the tragic loss of two young lives and the subsequent events that have transpired.
